Our story begins in the early 1960s with my grandfather, Nick Caprarelli, the son of Italian immigrants whose hard work and charm helped him rise from a young father seeking steady work to a respected Hollywood prop master. He became a beloved crew member on every set he worked on and a friend to many of Hollywood’s most iconic stars.

Nick paved the way for his sons: my father, Rick, who became a set decorator and later President of Independent Studio Services (ISS), and my uncle Tim, who followed as a prop master. Their dedication taught me that grit, work ethic, and integrity are the foundations of both a successful career and a fulfilling life.

Growing up, I was surrounded by the world they helped build, walls lined with autographed headshots of classic stars, prop houses filled with fascinating movie relics, and endless stories of creativity and hustle. It wasn’t the allure of Hollywood that inspired me, but the passion and authenticity my family brought to their work.

Over a decade ago, ISS, the company woven into my family’s history, entrusted me to rebuild its product placement division. That foundation became A-List Placements.
